I’m actually based in Chatham, Ontario (an hour down the 401) and lived in London for 3 years.
The magic with web design is that you can do it from anywhere, for anyone.
The magic of working with someone local is that I can be there for in-person meetings or to direct your photoshoot. It’s the best of both worlds!

The answer is: it depends.
Every business is different, and we’ll discuss that before we start our project together.
I find for most business websites that Squarespace is the best. In case you’re not familiar, Squarespace is the most powerful drag and drop website building software for online businesses. Specifically, I use the newest version of Squarespace, which is 7.1.
In using this software, you'll be able to easily update your website yourself after it's set up, which will not only save you money (NO MONTHLY MAINTENANCE FEES), but will also make you feel just as empowered as when you find the perfect pair of jeans.
For e-commerce stores I recommend Shopify, since it’s the most robust and tested e-commerce platform in the world (and it’s Canadian, eh!).

Both Squarespace and Shopify have ongoing costs to use the platform. This would be similar to “hosting” fees if you’ve previously used WordPress.
Monthly costs start at $23 US and go up from there depending on your business requirements (e-commerce businesses will be more expensive).
The only other required cost is your domain name. If you choose to pay for your Squarespace plan on an annual basis, your domain name will be free for the first year.
Otherwise, you can purchase an affordable domain name for as little as $20 per year.

If your project is a good fit, Ashley will send over a project proposal with a payment plan.
Depending on what payment plan you choose, you can pay with a credit card or e-transfer at intervals that we both have agreed on in the contract.
Generally a deposit will be required to book the project, with another payment occurring at the beginning, and a final payment at at the end when the project is completed to your satisfaction.
You and Ashley will be in constant communication, so if anything changes, you can absolutely let her know throughout the process.

At this time, web design services can be started within a few months.
That being said, you might need some time to get your design assets together (if we’re not including branding in the scope of the project), as well as photography and copywriting. We’ll keep that in mind when booking the dates of the project.

Ashley can absolutely move your current platform over to Squarespace or Shopify.
She’ll take care of allll the details during the website build (and yes, you’ll be able to keep your current domain name!).
